Looks like we can go away in our vans a day before the England can 😀👍

All joking aside it’s great news.

A question for you Sandra does the 5 mile rule apply if I was to cross over the border from the kingdom of Northumbria, there’s a birding area I want to visit in the borders.

Can't see why the 5 mile rule would apply and you could also stay overnight when rules are lifted. Just to be nosey, where is the birding area.

But what if everyone starts heading for Scotland to take advantage of that day earlier ruling. There won't be any room for the Scottish vans. :giggle:

Yep, the borders will be open for the English to come and enjoy Scotland (y)

Reading some of the posts on other threads....that will be about all that welcomes any English. 😱

I bet those midgies are licking their wicked little lips in anticipation, having been starved of good sassie blood since April.
Fishy is probably feeling very smug thinking she's beaten the English again by releasing everyone a day early but she's actually fallen into Boris' trap as he knew she just couldn't resist trying to 'beat' us again ... the midges are so desperate that the Scottish residents who venture out on 3rd will be the ones the midges get their 'blood' thirst satisfied from before the English get there ... so we should be safe to go on 4th! :dance2:

Avoid crowded places - so stay away from England.
Measures to protect against imported cases - armed guards at the border.
Outdoor hospitality - the midges will help folk keep apart, you need space to scratch.
😀😀😀

There seems to be some confusion as to what is actually allowed on the 3rd. No mention of sites opening only caravans that do not need shared facilities. There is another thread where the majority seem to think this refers to statics only. Think we will go the other way on the 4th and head South.

I too am wondering if Motorhomes can be used for overnight accommodation in Scotland from 3rd July or do we have to wait until 15th. Really keen to make a trip to Edinburgh to see our 2 sons and family who live there, especially our 3 year old grandson who we have not seen since February. At our age, my wife and I think that although the risk of catching CV-19 may now be low, if we do the results might be tragic. So we are content for the moment to live in our MoHo "bubble" and meet our family in a socially distanced outside location, rather then stay with them.

In her speech the First Minister said:

"......... I can confirm that, on 3 July, it is our intention to lift the guidance advising people in Scotland to travel no more than five miles for leisure and recreation purposes.

And although the tourism sector will not open fully until the 15 July, we intend that self-contained holiday accommodation – for example holiday cottages and lodges, or caravans where there are no shared services - can open from 3 July........."

Is there any definitive advice about when motorhomes can be used in Scotland?

You are allowed to cross border now :-)

What are you confused about? Seems pretty straight forward to me
Does this mean that the Hawick meet is back on ?

You been asleep?

So not on the 10th, that's what I was asking. I had read it earlier but thought it was back on with your Na Na post.

No thats

Ne Nor Ne Nor Ne Nor
Thinking about it, this is surely the theme music to Batman . A popular programme back when I were a lad. You try and tell modern people about this and they won’t believe you. Men dressing up in tights with their underwear outside their tights. The Boy Wonder with not a hint of The Love That Dare Not Speak it’s Name. Happy days.

I’m not confused but some posting on here seem to think that MH trips will be allowed in Scotland from 3rd July, they are the confused ones.
