Hi - question about pigtails :)
I have a 2016 van and understand the pigtails need replacing every 5 years. I have a GASIT system and the tails from the changeover valve to the bottles are within 5 years. However I have a Truma Rupture Protection Hose going from my changeover valve to my regulator. I am of the understanding that I need to replace this and just wondering what I replace it with.

The options are
1: Exactly the same - I do have a Truma Monocontrol Regular with Crash sensor but never intend driving with gas turned on. I always isolate the gas directly on the bottle before driving.
2: Normal hose POL to W20 fitting
3: Braided hose POL to W20 fitting

If the general opinion is to use like for like then the question arises can I reuse the Truma rupture protection valve and just replace the tail coming from it to the changeover valve. I want to do this the safest way it can be done and have the challenge that sourcing kit in Ireland can be a bit challenging sometimes..

Thanks

Pretty pointless having standard pigtails then a rupture protection hose , the system works by shutting the Gas off at the cylinder which won’t happen in your installation.
Gaslow cylinders have excess flow valves built in unlike Gasit which don’t , so technically both your hoses need to be rupture protection hoses.
Next thing is the hoses don’t actually have an expiration date it’s more nonsense from the NCC⚠️
We import some of our hoses from Germany they have a 10 year date on for many countries then a 5 year date for the U.K. to satisfy the NCC .
The leisure vehicle industry is sadly a law unto itself as manufacturers actually say that hoses don’t have an expiration date but 10 years replacement is considered good practice, obviously depending on condition.

Thanks - The rupture protection hose was originally going into the gas cylinder but now is going into the changeover valve. What I should have is rupture protection everywhere or...... nowhere.

Shoutout to Basildog who spent his Friday evening helping me with my gas set up. Very much appreciated and fantastic to talk to someone who knows his stuff - thank you - Rory
