I have managed almost 50 years without owning one of these things. Lots of people say they would not be without one. Byan used one in my RV the other day! Trouble is there is much more on the dial that "on & off" and I am very electrically challenged. If I were to buy one of these to put next to the hammer in my tool kit, what to you suggest I buy and why and do they come with an idiots guide?

Thanks in anticipation

I agree with Jim, buy a cheap one as you do not need accuracy. I have several, all expensive, because I need the accuracy for work. I would advise though that if you are unsure about where to poke the leads, DON'T..... Let someone competant do it for you....
