You may get more answers/views if you have a topic title specific to your query, simply using the title 'motorhome' might not be helping in your search for information

PS welcome to the house of fun

If you read enough you will find bad reports about everything and as they say bad news travels faster than good, I don’t know these vans specifically but damp is the big killer in any van so make sure is has a good check over, private or dealer?

Hi and welcome to the fun house. 🤪

My first thought is payload - 248kg makes it unusable and even if you can get it uprated you'd likely need to spend on some extra mods to increase the axle limits although I assume you are already aware of this due to your present MH.

248kg payload??!! That's a bloody joke. How on earth can a company sell a van that is practically impossible to use legally.

The reviews all seem to be for an uprated chassis of 3850kg. Which gives a slightly more reasonable payload. So need to make sure that option is ticked! I'm assuming that as motdon already has a long motorhome, they've got a C1 licence, so going over 3.5t won't be an issue.

Yes I noticed that but it obviously needs to be requested and also the axle weights still need clarifying as you can have an overall max of 3850kg with no change to them so they'd still be 1850kg front and 2000kg rear unless the uprated chassis has something added to increase them which with it being an Alko doesn't necessarily mean it has (airbags etc) so again something to check and not assume as I think many are likely to do.

I am confused...unless I am being a complete numpty motdon has been a Funster since Feb 2013.
You are a complete numpty  however I suspect motdon has been 'recorded' as a 'free' member since he originally registered and has now re-subscribed hence keeping his user ID and original joining date.

Personally although it pains me to say it, I’m not a fan of British built MHs. Our Swift was a pile of rubbish.

perfect example

we had a swift bolero (UK make) and it was brilliant ......

i realise 138go was trying to be helpful and gave their honest opinion ------- but you really do need to do your homework (as you are doing), you will find very few people post on forums JUST to say how good their motorhome is, but you may be surprised by the number who do the opposite.
