Hi all, We are considering moving home and though that Totnes could be somewhere we might like. Thought we would take the MH there for a few days to get a feel for the town and check out the housing stock!

Camp sites seem to close this time of year, anyone know of a Pub or anywhere we could stop for a couple of days ? Smallish MH - 6.2m. Thanks.

campercontact app
Britstops catalogue
Park 4 night app..

That should give you some googling :)

Not in Totnes but not too far away is Stokely Farm Shop. They allow MHs to park overnight but give them a call first. There is a brewery at the same place. :)

Campercontact has this place in Totnes.

Those MHs in the photo look a bit conventional for Totnes, which is hippy-central. It isn't known as "Twinned with Narnia" for nothing. The council has voted to ban 5G and the kids there have some of the lowest percentages in the Country for MMR jabs.

If I was the OP I would have a look at Kingsbridge, we lived there 15 years and probably regret moving from it now. :)

But they might be of that persuasion!

Caravan club site at STEAMER QUAY ROAD Totnes closed on the 28th. September for the season

Widdecombe farm campsite on the Torquay ring road (10 minutes from Totnes) is open until the end of October, I believe Beverly park in Paignton is open all year but no dogs, Caravan club site at Kingswear near Brixham open until new year all within easy travelling distance of Totnes, hope this helps.
Don.

Thanks for all the reply's. Not exactly a hippy but certainly not looking for a dull place! We were hoping for somewhere within walking distance so we could have a meal/couple of beers at lunchtime or evening to get a better feel for the place. Used to go to Kingsbridge many years back and will have another look at it. Hoping to find somewhere big enough to do all local shopping with choice of places to eat and drink but not so big as to be same as every other high street. The feel and friendliness also important. Just to add to difficulties is wanting housing within walking distance with room for MH and not on a crammed in estate!

Not going to be an easy search especially as where we are in mid Wales is beautiful and the house meets all our requirements except being within walking distance to a town of the right size/facilities.
