I bought our current motorhome/camper in December 2018. It's an LHD panel van (Challenger Vany) I've always bought ex-rentals (5 now) in Germany, they seem to offer the best deals. Basically the van was new in March 2018, the dealer rented it out for the summer, I bought it in December. These types of deals are pretty common in Germany and popular. I was looking around Mobile.de a few days ago and saw that the same dealer was offering the same deal, 2022 Challenger Vany, available in November. The big difference is that the price has increased by 65%. Is this similar in the UK market?
I'm now also a little concerned that I might be under insured.

I suspect the increases in the UK are not a million miles away from the figure you've indicated.

The windscreen price on our automatic Rapido PVC, purchased new mid-2016 was circa £44k.

A new V68 with similar spec - if you could find one - would be north of £60k today.

We sold our old van a Carthago Chic i5 mid 2018 build last September for 88k we were happy with that while we waited for our new Niesmann Arto. I was shocked last week to see the same spec van on an early 19 plate with more miles on, on a dealers web site up for 119k it’s all getting a bit silly. I’ve read that the new Niesmann Flair is going to be around 350k that’s a lot of money for a bit of alloy with a wheel on each corner. If it keeps going like it is surely there must come a point where people just can’t afford it, I thought ours was bad enough at 146k I really don’t think I would have spent much more.

Our 2018 van new would have been £80k
We bought it in 2019 as an ex demo for £67k
Today we would get around £85-95k if we sold it.
New, if you could buy one, would be about £125k.
However in reality you are now talking about 2024 delivery and the dealers can only give a guide on the price.

I have upped our insurance value from £67k with an annual decrease in value,
to £100k with an annual increase in value
