I have Just had my Motorhome Insurance renewal reminder from Adrian Flux
£281 which I think is pretty reasonable.

I don't know whether to take out the additional key cover just in case I ever lost my keys, what do you guys think

KEYCARE COVER (Cover loss and replacement of ALL your keys) - £19.00 Key crime has increased dramatically over the years as more sophisticated security systems are being fitted to vehicles as standard, making them harder for thieves to steal. Many vehicle thefts now occur as a result of keys being stolen. We offer a Keycare policy which covers up to £1,500 in the event your keys are stolen. You’re also covered if you lock yourself out of your home or vehicle, or if you lose your keys, including replacement locks, locksmith charges and reprogramming alarms and immobilisers (which can be expensive). All your keys are covered, and you'll get up to three days of car hire or onward travel costs while your vehicle is out of use. There’s no excess to pay, and no limit on the number of claims you can make until you reach the total £1,500 of cover. The policy is underwritten by Trinity Lane Insurance Company Limited and the premium shown above incorporates a policy arrangement fee of £10.95. There is no cover until the key fob is received and it is recommended that your keys are attached to the fob to improve the likelihood of recovery. All claims must be reported within 30 days of the loss occurring.

When we were burgled ! and the MoHo keys taken all locks had to be changed, the alarm reprogrammed new fobs for that and the Tracker the bill was around £1,200 so yes its worth it, however it is a claim and the Btards will want a higher premium. Due to the thefts (3 claims for motor vehicles, 2 stollen) AIB wanted over £3K for the MoHo (previous policy cost £400) just got off the phone from Adrain Flux this years premium for the MoHo is £840 down £40 from last year

So here is the thought any claim you make will make your premiums higher knowing what we know now (and we are the victims in all this) because an insurance company cannot recover thier costs any claim you make where the insurance company cannot recover thier costs will make your premium higher the next time.

So how much would it actually cost to replace all your keys etc and what impact would it have if say you had two claims within 3 years....
