hiya everyone .
im new to motorhoming so please bare with my.
(dethleffs globetrotter)
recentley my water pump stopped working,
using a multimeter i found i had a bad earth ,
is it ok to directly put a new earth to the chassis or does it have to go
directly back to the control unit?
regards graham

For a pump, preferably needs two wires feed from source. The negative bonding is not as reliable as a dedicated negative wire, and to much voltage loss under load.

current earth is a wire that goes into the paneling and back to the control unit i think

If you can determine which wire it is , attach a length of wire to it, run it back to the pump and with your meter on ohms go between the original wire and the temporary and check continuity.
