Hi, all. The blind in our Rapido 786f door is gradually coming away from the bottom slider, which has the effect of twisting the blind, which exacerbates the tear! I would like to re-fix it to the metal end - I am sure there will be some slack on the roller, but haven’t a clue as to how you get to the inside of a motorhome door!

It’s a thick double skinned job, as are most that I have seen, but I cannot figure how you get the two parts apart! Has anyone done this, and can offer any guidance?

Any help gratefully received!!!

Hi JFD, I have a similar impending mission. The habitation door on my 9048 is a bugger to shut and I got a caravan tech guy to look at it a few days ago. He balked at the prospect of dismantling the thing to get at the lock, as some of the trim/door components relating to the blind are apparently attached with Velcro! and would need to come off. Plus apart from screw fixings under the rubber door seal/trim, it seems there could be other weird Rapido methods to deal with.To be fair, he was running late and we had to leave but I got the impression he didn't want to touch it.
I will be going to a Rapido specialist to get mine fixed very soon.
I hope you get some better responses here and am very interested to see how you get on, good luck with it.

I assume the OP is referring to the vertical blind in the door.

I doubt if the door is Rapido specific. Probably a Hartal door. There should be a manufactures name on the window glass if it's a Hartal door.

At the end of the day, I suspect the inner door skin will need to be removed to gain access to the blind stringing configuration.

The inner door skin will probably be held by a number of small screws around the edge underneath the sealing strip. Your biggest obstacle then is the door handle but a careful look round should lead you to a screw or maybe the bezel surround comes apart to release it - I can't be specific as I don't know your particular van but fixings tend to be generic. Once you've released that it's a matter of maneuvering the panel around to get past the latches etc - be careful with any electrical cables, easy to disconnect them without noticing until you come to put it all back together again and find something doesn't work.

Once free the window roller mechanism will be easy to get at and you should then be able to proceed with a fix.

Just done this on my Swift Bolero, but my blind fix was somewhat simpler than yours so can't help further, sorry.

there are a few hidden screws and the inner skin is then held on by velcro. to repair the blind use mylar sail repair tape. grease the inner mechanism whilst the door skin is off

The only writing on the window says “Para Press”! I will have a go at removing the door seal this weekend, unless we go away, that is!!!
