Hi

I gave a friend looking to buy a camper advertised by Motorhome Depot. Does anyone have any experience of them and should he be wary of things like warranty etc?
Thanks

Mike

Hi Saxon66, there was a thread about selling via MHD in the past few days, so this thread may help....

Very interesting thread. What it doesn’t tell me is whether there is any kind of warranty with MHD sales?

cheers

There is no warranty....well not in Feb 2019 when I refused to buy through them because of t's and c's. They wouldn't even warrant that their statements were correct.

They are a broker so AFAIK don't offer any form of warranty, all you'll get is what is already with the vehicle being sold by the owner.

There is two companies with similar name as one has The in front of motorhomedepot, if it’s them then I’d imagine a warranty would be included as they are main dealers.

Bought mine from motorhome depot. Very very happy with the entire process. Cheaper than dealer but no warranty. But I’m not interested in warranty as dealers are always hours away, don’t want to do the work, do it badly, and always mess you about. For me a lower purchase price and sort any issues out myself was preferred.

Motorhome Depot do offer insurance-based warranties - sometimes they'll include one for free, other times it'll be something you'd pay extra for.
We bought our current MH through them but we didn't bother with the warranty option - I'd definitely consider buying via them again.

If buying through them you need to treat it as effectively a private sale: check the MH over carefully, ask questions (and if the broker can't answer them, get them to ask the seller and get back to you). Sometimes the seller will be there for the viewing, sometimes they won't be - but if its important to you then you can always ask.

Bought via MHD as was bring van to Ireland and dealers warranty wouldn't be of much use there and I'd be like Landy Andy anyhow - once the mechanicals are there and the van is dry then I'm happy to save the money and replace a few bits myself. Very very happy with the process but I do imagine it is a bit of a lottery - the guy I dealt with could not do enough!
