A buddy is keen to sell his boat and buy a Motorhome, the boat ain’t selling where it is with an agent. So I wondered if there is a dealer that anyone is aware of that buys and sells both products. Tia.

Well somebody like Ancasta, who years ago moved from cars into boats and selling houses, would claim to do both, but from my experience of them on boats I would not recommend them - theeir salesmen could have been selling washing machines the month before.

PM me your friends boat details, where the boat is moored/stored and the agent/broker he has got it with. I may be able to recommend an alternative.

I personally would think it is better to keep the two transactions separate.

Depends on what boat it is will determine where best to sell it. Brokers in general are crying out for boats to sell at the moment cause they just can't get the stock. Its a sellers market at the moment as well so I would suggest your mate rings around brokers, not necessarily local to him, and see what interest he gets from Brokers.

I'm moving lots of boats around at the moment for private customers and brokers, to and from locations best suited to market the particular type of boat. For example, last week I moved a 42' broads cruiser (used as a live aboard/holiday home) from Milford Haven back to Norfolk, as the vendor knew he'd get more for it selling on the broads, even after factoring in the transport costs

The cheaper end of the boat market is rapidly becoming saturated and you can barely give them away. Many get abandoned even. Speaking to a friend who is professionally involved, he is seeing the first signs of the credit crash with people desperate to get their money back out. Going to be a tough expensive couple of years and luxury items will be the first to go

I think that's probably going to be the case with people who bought anything that floats when lockdown was about, but top end boats are still selling and moving around. I'm not seeing any decline in bookings to move boats between 75k to 350k value. On the flip side, we're also moving lots of old rotters around where people have decided to live aboard.
