I see in the 2021 price list:LOL: that you can now spec a Loft on the Eurocargo 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder truck chassis so plated 7490kg or 10000kg, plenty of grunt in the 6 cylinder;)

You know you want one jongood

10t chassis 3500kg payload (y) more payload than a lot of vans weigh.

A mechanics nightmare, most repairs have to be done from the front which is why the truck has a tipping cab.

Now that's what you call a sensible payload. (y)

The 7.49 tonner would have around 1000kg but with around 800kg in various tanks that would leave you nothing for options etc etc, ours started at 2000kg but we used half of that with options ;)

Hi Alan

I think I am right in saying that the motor will sit that bit further back in the Eurocargo and there will be a access hatch in the floor as it sits high over the motor, OK I would not want a greasy mechanic working on the motor from inside but it would be a last resort as general servicing is all accessible from front or underneath.

My Clou Liner was fitted with an Iveco 6 cylinder, 6 Litre engine and in six years of of use, averaging 8000 miles and 175 nights per year, gave me no trouble whatsoever. Martin is quite right in that the 6 cylinder engine has an enormous amount of torque which makes for effortless driving.

Same with our clou only fan belts and routine stuff like greasing throttle cables even after 24 years they do nt make them like that anymore sadly

Can`t beat a pusher configuration in my view. Big Cummings under the rear.
I have no doubt that you are right, just not in a Rapido.

When we had the business we had a customer who ran an old Jordon F1 in the Euroboss or something similar, talking to him one day and he was telling me that the only bits about going to the European rounds that he actually enjoyed was driving his Yankee pusher there and back.

It is a fact, you sit 9 or 10 metre, from the noise and vibration in almost silence, just a faint rumble, more noise from the tyres, on Air suspension. Having said that, the Merc; 3L is a real nice drive, I enjoy it far more than the last Fiat.

What’s that ?

Its the Vario Perfekt they used to build around 97-2005( approx) on a MAN 11-220 coach chassis, mostly built to order, excellent quality. The downside with them is that they only have a small scooter garage with a hoist along side the engine although they do have lots of other lockers.

Sounds like you been doing your homework Jon ;)
