Anyone seen this before?
Is it a scam or a real threat?

Seems it's been around for a long time Sandy but I hadn't come across it before.

Hi, Before you circulate this it really is worth looking at the hoax-slayer web site as the link is below, as they suggest at the bottom of there summary " the email can be dismissed as a pointless hoax and should not be forwarded."
