Was at lincoln and signal was rubbish on o2.managed 1 bar if lucky.

What could I get to boost or amplify signal while in van.
But not wallet emptying like some stalls were offering.

Didn't see anyone with a system installed . I would have asked.

Must be something cheaper out there.

Cheers

There is no free lunch. A mimo antenna coupled to a compatible router is the only answer.

Firstly you need a speed check app such as speedchecker as the number of bars shown on the phone is unreliable.

Once you have the app go outside the motorhome and check your download and upload speeds in several points around the motorhome.

Then get back in and do the test again.

If the result is prety much the same dont waste your money on a mimo devise, if the result is poor inside and outside then it simply means your provider (in your csae O2) is poor in that area, so either put up with it (a mimo aint going to help) or look at other providers, but your in a motorhome and therefore you'll be moving about and things will change.

If the result shows a variation it means any phone signal will be effected by being inside your motorhome, you MAY get a better result by using your phone as a router and placing it by a window elc but your probably going to need a mimo and router.

Buy a good 4g router and try that as stand alone before going for the external antenna, good chance that will work but no guarantees.

Our mothorhome came with a mimo and 4g router but never use it as theres simply no need, but not all motorhomes are the same.

As a general rule your better off on EE for 4g data.

I use a HUAWEI mifi connected to a roof mounted puck type aerial, about £100 if you fit it yourself. Currently have a data only sim which gives me 60gb a month which expires end of December. Bought it 2 months ago for a one off payment of around £40.

I use them for ALL the 4g routers and M2M I fit, EE themselves cant get near the deals they offer.

Just doens't make sense that they can undercut the network they use, but good for me I use them in motorised gate controllers and can simply do updayes and fix issue including coding remotes from home.
