All things being equal, I hope to set off for an adventure tomorrow.

The plan is to wend my way slowly and steadily down south to enjoy the warmer weather over the festive season and the pleasure of purchasing sausages, bacon, rib eye steaks, Park Farm pork pies, Wagon Wheels and the like from the "Supermarket Of Shame" near Albufeira. I can't get hold of these treats around these parts.

I also dream of dining in three of my favourite restaurants in Armacão de Pera and drinking coffee in the sun at Pedro's beach cafe.

"Man plans, God laughes".

The thing is... due to some recent rain, the upwards sloping muddy grass to the exit lane of my little piece of Paradise (aka QMJ) and the ridiculous front wheel drive of my (new to me) mini Beast, I might not even be able to reach a road with tarmac on it...

...but I hope to be able to post photos of my progress.

Fingers crossed.

It is a pleasure to hear of someone with a true understanding of the situation and their plans on how to tackle it. Like eating the elephant, keep your eyes on that first 100 yards.

Wagon Wheels You might need them to get out off the mud

Good luck getting out!!!!
We plan to visit in the dryer weather---- as we also now have dredded front wheel drive----- I swore I would never do it!!!!! But we wanted to get mobile sooner rather than much later----- we spent months looking for another Iveco!!!!

I'm sure my Prince will succeed in going to the top of the track ..... OK ...May be not tomorrow , but hey ho... what's the hurry!!! Enjoy your time going down south! Give my regards to the best "Octopus salad" maker and who ever you meet down the Algarve that we met together!
Safe and Nice trip

My bro used to live in Spain spent all his time hunting down british delacacies such as warburtons bread and richmond sausages to our amazement.

I went to that supermarket of shame recently....waitrose sausages, streaky bacon, Cheddar, marmite, mince pies, custard, stuffing and teabags. All ready for Christmas!

Omg they shouldn't be allowed to be called sausages they are like pink slime, about 20% pork and lots of oil.
Excuse me! I grew up on Richmond sausages. :giggle:

I don’t like the butchers sausages with the thick skin

At least the dreaded tree is not slowing you down, 😉 don't forget to put traction control on. 😁

I'm the same, we can get everything here, 😉 but the only over inflated priced things we buy is custard and gravy granules 🙄 both for me. 😜
Janie though she would make me liver and bacon ( she is vegetarian) it was very nice but I have gone off bacon, at one time I had bacon rolls almost everyday. 😁 Bob.

Safe trip JJ I'm sure you will get one way or another, 😉 at least the tree is not going to slow you down once you get moving. 😁
It's a shame we can't join you. :xeek::xThumb: Bob.

I don’t think there is any meat in Richmond sausages as the Pork ones taste and look exactly the same as the vegan ones. It’s about the only time I can get away with cheating Nick when the veggie/vegan children are home. Sausage casserole. They also make a very nice filling for a vegan sausage roll with a bit of stuffing or sosmix stirred in.

Brilliant plan JJ ...you can and will get out as the memory of the smell of those sausages will encourage you alone lol ...
Safe trip ....wish we could have met up with you again too..
Give our best wishes to the gang xxx

Hi everyone...

I positively flew up the grass slope, onto the track, up over the (slight) hill and onto the road to the IC8.

No problems at all...

Yippeeeeeeee.

Been to the former place of work to collect an Amazon package...

Done the cassette duties (a bit tricky due to the firmness and dimensions of the deposits)...

Now outside Intermarche doing my washing and then...

"Supermarket Of Shame" here I come...

JJ 😉 I notice your careful where you park in that car park. 🤔

I was reading your blog today, had a tear in my eye seeing Antonio and Rosa and your classic hymer, I missed the happy part of us all at Figueira da Foz on our long weekend mini meet. :Eeek:
And ............. looking at the photos 😉 I only just realised your face mask was red, and not baby blue. :Eeek::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh: Bob.

Good to see you on the road again, hopefully we'll get to catch up at some stage!

Well... a busy but rewarding day.

Chores all done, fridge partially stocked for a couple of days on the road.

Brilliant scenic drive down the practically empty N2, past the east of Serta, past Vila Rei and Abrantes and Pont de Sor and have pulled up just past the aerodrome by the side of the water.

Before turning of the engine I have to check the internet speed and, despite being in an area with no houses, mbs are flying in much faster than needed for the footy tonight.

On the road again, parked peacefully by the side of a "lake" formed by the baragem of Mont Argil with rapid internet.

Nearly perfect... if a Princess Froggy was with me it would be totally perfect...

Ah well.
