I’ve been trawling through insurance threads, but haven’t come across anything about insuring your MH if living 95% in and around Europe doing the Schengen Shuffle for a year or few.

I am assuming there are additional issues if you are out of the UK for well over 300 days each year?

Any knowledge based on first hand experience would be gratefully received.

We are full-timers and insure our van through Comfort. Only 2 companies would quote owing to cost of van and also us living in it permanently. At almost £2500, Comfort were the cheapest!!! They were not concerned whether we were spending more time touring the UK or continent.

The issue we had was finding travel insurance that would cover more than 120 days away from the UK. Nationwide used to do 180 days, but changed their policy last year, best we could find was 120.

If you, or anyone else, knows any insurers who offers multi trip, min 180 days travel insurance, would definitely be interested to know.

I think the one via the caravan club may, although I could be confusing it with home insurance.

With Comfort a trip of more than 90 days is classed as full timing. Some companies will allow 180 days.
With your use you will have to take out a full time policy.
