This cold snap has highlighted a large gap around the handbrake of our new to us Hymer MLT540 that is open to the underside of the van allowing in draughts, dust etc. Does anyone know if I am missing anything or what I should do to seal the gap.

We have a small gap too, through which the handbrake cable exits the cab area. We can see the ground. Doesn't seem to affect the temperature inside the van though.

Hi.
I have a collection of Old Holed Cardigans. In a past life,i would stop drafts getting into the cab via the Hand brake/ gear lever...whatever/wherever,by insinuating the "Whatever" up through the armhole....ARMHOLE !!! and pulling it down to make a snug fit around the base of said whatever. It just so happens..... That i have a collection of REALLY old Cardy's, ( In a sort of "Pecking" order.) I could supply you with one that has just about ceased to function as a "Log Burner heating unit cleaner/loader " Its not that dirty/unkempt.tatty. But my first wife has refused to put it in the wash machine, being a knuckle dragger,i never ever got to learn to operate this contraption...so,that could be yours...... Oh price ? 1 Carton of Conde Noble At Lidl's Santa Comba....86 cents ...PER LITRE:xrofl::xrofl::xrofl::xrofl:??:drinks:

My Merc LeVoyageur has brush seals (like letterbox seals mentioned by 27 TUG).

that is not the floor it is only a fill-in piece to stop you tripping and keep the carpet levelish. Or it is on mine. The damn brake switch there gets caught in the carpet and stop the hydraulic legs from going down. also, the silly plastic cover breaks off on the lever when it catches the seat base.
