Merc vs fiat chassis

Having had our mh for 2 years, we are very happy with it, it's a dethleff on a fiat chassis. I have driven German cars for past few years and am under the impression that mb chassis would give a better ride. Has anybody experience between the two? Obviously to go to mb will be very expensive so another thought would be to invest in air suspension (Obviously there are a range of options), again any thoughts as if I did this would probably consider adding tow bar and replating.
Despite these thoughts, we are very happy with the mh. We had a tuning box fitted which improved driveability and fuel economy.
