Meeting other Funsters when abroad

I thought it was only me that people hide behind their vans so they do not have to talk to me. Or is it i just will not shut up. Go on you can tell me.

I will say though the people we have met and talked with, have become real friends away from motorhomes, not just because they have to talk to us.
The worst place we have found for miserable buggers is honfleur aire , me I'll talk to anyone but walking around there, you can see the UK folks bury themselves in to whatever they can rather than speak to you and yet the Dutch and Belgians go out of their way to speak to you.

Plan is to call in at Honfluer on the way to Nantes. Only for a couple of hours to have a walkabout and look see.

Just realised. We have out Motorhome Fun poster with our names on in a window here in Spain. Not one passer-by has stopped to chat. Do they think we are Swingers?

From what I’ve read on the famous oracle (FB) you need a picture of a pineapple for people to knock on your door

The way I used to meet up with Funsters (many moons ago) was to attend all the shows and parking in the Funster section.

This gives everyone a chance to see if they are likely to get on with each other or not!

We've got our MHF poster stuck permanently in the window plus Funster stickers front and back. We'll happily talk to anyone but are currently on the overflow carpark at Devesa Gardens just south of Valencia and the only people bothering to talk are usually Dutch. Last night we seem to have been actively ignored by two individual Brit vans whilst on an aire - what is it with Brits?

3 lovely couples and great company

One couple parked right next to us, so we went out for the day.

Then they sussed us !

A few have stayed outside our house here in the UK & Spain.

Was a real pleasure to meet Lenny HB & his lovely other half.

Dave & Gill came to stop outside our house.

We sat by the fire until 3am for three nights. Then blamed us for keeping them up late ! The cheek !

Fame at last for Minxy ... Well nearly!

We're at Denia 'aire' and today a couple came over and the chap asked if I was on MHF ... Thinking my fame, or infamy, had reached the wider MH world I cautiously replied "yes" whilst trying to keep my ego under control.

It turns out he is another funster and thought it was me, not because he recognised me though, it was the picture of our dogs which I use for my avatar!

You was lucky, most Funsters won't knock on your door as they know there will be no beer or wine to scrouge.

Just some lemon Sangria and no-alcohol bier but that's it ... Would take a desperate funster to try to scrounge those off us.

How we miss Dénia. Lovely place and met a few mhf members while there. All very friendly.

Lovely weather today, low 20s but got too hot over lunch time so possibly even higher for a couple of hours then. Last couple of days we've been about 10km north next to playa Deveses, nice and quiet although a favourite for dog walkers, good weather again although we did get a heavy sea mist yesterday morning until the sun burnt it off, could easily have stayed there for weeks.

Not far from Denia, closer to Gandia, yesterday we bumped on to a well known YouTube couple. Some in here follow them. They seemed like lovely ppl, chatty, pleasant and down to earth.
On a municipal aire, that is.

Last couple of days we've been about 10km north next to playa Deveses, nice and quiet although a favourite for dog walkers, good weather again although we did get a heavy sea mist yesterday morning until the sun burnt it off, could easily have stayed there for weeks.

I think we are going to be heading back there end of march. 5 weeks and counting. 60 days next time so can take our time a little more.

We had a Brit come over to us being friendly and wanting to know about the Aire, had a good natter then next morning they just upped and left, looked in our direction and we waved but just looked away again!
Yes what is it with Brits abroad?

From the frequent topics on here I'd avoid them as I'd be at risk of sorting out problems with their faulty fridge, heater, loo, water pump or ear wax.

Off topic but we're moving south from Valencia tomorrow, had thought of Denia. What's that parking like? Room, water etc? Looking for a nearby beach for the dog to exercise on, he's getting lazy (like his "dad" yeh!)

but there were two who didn’t want to know, one basically grunted at me and blanked me for the rest of the week and with the other one it seemed I wasn’t posh enough…
