It's all happening this week ...

Fan runs ok, tell remote to open lid, motor runs, knob turns but lid doesn't move. Turn knob manually, lid stays put.
Tried a gentle push from below with a paint brush handle, solid.
Think the drive train might be knackered.

Any suggestions? I'll look on the roof but I don't think it's stuck to the seals ....

Just dug the invoice out, dated 22/04/24 so hoping that the EU 3 year consumer goods warranty is gonna apply here ....

The gearbox which opens the lid has probably fractured; mine ended up in many pieces. It is not difficult to replace, just a bit fiddly.

You should be able to get the replacement part from Leisure Vehicle Services of Cannock. Speak to Dan Palmer, if you need to.

About a month ago, I have taken ours of the roof, and dismantled it in pieces for cleaning, pice by pice. Then I lubed the moving parts with white bike chain grease. On the fan spindle I dropped few drops of ACF50 and is whisper quiet now.
There is a plastic gear that opens and closes the lid. Also the arms that slide on the underside of the lid, need to slide smooth no stater, otherwise will put extra load on the plastic gear. Mine still ok, but I clean and lube after every winter.

Mine seems to glue itself to the frame if it's not been used for a month. The motor strains before it pops open.
You need to lube the plastic bushes that slides on the supports. Eventually will load the plastic gear to much and break.

Fixed.

Went on the roof and lifted the lid slightly; it appears to have been stuck on 2 rubber buffers on either side of the frame. Don't see any way to get some silicone on these without major disassembly ....

The confusing thing was the motor that lifts the lid ran, and the knob turned just as it should but there were no audible protests from the motor or gear train.
