Oh well looks like our van will be there indefinitely. I miss it being in the driveway for borrowing items from .

Same story with Tyne Valley, but fully understandable given the current situation.

Mine has been there since November, when I eventually get it back it will be like having a 'new' van so something to look forward to in these challenging times.

Stay safe everyone?

Well I might've gone to Durham and home again. Would've been good to let my high risk mum to self isolate out in the driveway where it'd be easier to try looking after her and giving her her own space

Sorry to hear this Sandra, your up against a double edged sword in that even if you had your van you'd be unable to use it but, that doesn't make you feel any better.
Keep your wee chinny up buddy, this will all pass & hopefully we'll all get back to normal & have a laugh at these extraordinary events.

Old van sold to concessionaire and new van there but can’t collect !But in the scheme of things not that important ! We will get it one day lol

November wow, what's been wrong with it?

CazPaul - Warranty work including panoramic rooflight issues, bubbling floor covering, broken/non illuminating seat end panel and a host of smaller items not picked up in PDI.

Most of the delay down to getting Chausson to supply replacement parts, although all issues were accepted without contention as warranty claims.

The irony is the final part arrived last Friday for fitting and collection was arranged for tomorrow ?.

Disappointing yes, but not life threatening and considering what the country is going through its really not that important, but thanks for asking and stay safe.

So are Brownhills. They just phoned and apologised

We were due to collect our new Motorhome this weekend, it's sitting there awaiting final prep and who knows when we'll get our hands on it now!

Just had a call from Davan to say they have closed and that the Pilote factory has also closed.
Looks like new van will now be 70 reg , does that sound optimistic :giggle:

I rang my dealers, West Country Motorhomes, to cancel a habitation service booked for the end of April. Liz who looks after the bookings told me that they were closing in a few minutes but at the moment do’nt cancel as they have cancelled all bookings up to Easter and subject to what government guide lines are after then they will contact customers to advise what is going to happen.

My wife and I are not bored yet as we have so much work to do in and around our orchards and land that I have been putting off for years, the only problem is we are both knackered now. We’ll sleep well !

We have a long drive so I will at least be able to drive the camper backwards and forwards to avoid flat spots in the tyres, we also plan to camp out and pretend we are in the New Forest. I will miss being able to wander around chatting to other campers though.

Took ours to the garage for service and MOT yesterday its ready now but hardly essential travel but must admit I was tempted

Simpsons of Gt Yarmouth have now shut as well so our M/H will be backed in behind gates off the drive instead of the work booked in for next Saturday being done.
As others have said, with what’s going on that’s the last thing to be concerned above.

I guess we can all look at it as free storage :)

What have they been doing for 5 months? Or is that a sore subject.

See post 13 .
Wow disappointing to say the least on a new van at pretty substantial cost. I live very close to Tyne Valley and see various vans back and forth along the road as I think they still sub out some work to another repairer in the area.

If only that was the case Sandra, we are still paying storage fees for the secure facility where its normally kept:cry:
Such is life and if that's all we have to contend with when this is all over, we will consider ourselves very fortunate. Take care and stay safe.

Oh sorry, that’s a bit of a bummer for you. So your effectively renting a spot whether you use it or not. I thought you only paid for when it was in storage. Very glad we don’t have that extra cash outlay.

Hope everyone keeps heeding to Stay At Home and this will be over soon.

On a related subject, with garages closing there will be little opportunity to have motorhomes serviced to comply with warranty requirements. My own needs a service by early April. However, I have checked with Peugeot who have given a 3 month extension with any problems after that being looked at 'on a case by case basis'.

Marquis Dinnington also closed so no access whatsoever to sort dying batteries and possible tyre damage.

How do you stand with your van if your dealer goes into administration, and I’m sure some will.

spongy

If it's a new (or used purchase) any moneys paid could be at risk however if you paid these by credit card you could be covered under regulations covering this.
If it's your vehicle in for repair \ warranty work you'll possibly have to give proof of ownership to the administrators who will then release for collection.
