I’ve been muttering about this for ages.

So eventually decided on this ..

It’s ordered and being built so please don’t tell me it’s rubbish ?.

It’s available cheaper at Cyclesense but with 400Wh battery vs 500Wh from velospeed. Plus they were great on the phone. And they’re throwing in a bike chain, a mirror and an Ortlieb pannier.

And it arrives in time for my birthday ... no excuses to getting out on the bike now.

Sounds good, we have a very similar spec on our kalkhoff endeavour.
Bought Jan 2020, done 750 miles.
Really pleased as it makes any hills evaporate.
The Bosch bits are good and the motor is easy to ride with no power or smug assistance as we call it.
Range is generally more than 60 miles, using pedal power where possible, though our range counters can give wildly different opinions on the purion display.
I generally only use the minimum assistance, though my wife occasionally indulges in turbo mode.

We are now much more adventurous and it takes the tedium out of cycling as before I couldn't do much in the way of hills.
If this is your first bike with disc brakes, be sure to give both front and back brakes several high speed stops, this beds the brakes in. Do this on a quiet road, and leave plenty of room as the first few stops will be poor. After a bit the brakes will be fine.
Happy birthday
Jon

Looks and sounds like a good bike, hope you have loads of easy miles on them ?

We were looking at these before we ordered our new bikes.

We ended up with YT's.

Had them for a few weeks now and not ridden them yet (we're in Spain and in total lockdown). Can't wait to get out on them ?‍♀️?‍♂️

I'm sure you will love it, I suffer from a knee problem, and before I went electric as soon as the hills got steep I ended up walking, and the next day I could hardly walk, I said to Janie I'm getting an electric bike, she said I don't want one, ? I said fine but I'm not waiting for you. ?
As soon as I started looking, she had a go on one ? and she wanted one. ?

My bike has done more than twice hers has done, because she walks the mountains, and I'm out on the bike, every trip is 50 or 60km, and not having to strain my knee, I could go out everyday if I wanted, it has changed my life and I love it. ? Bob.

You'll not go far wrong with that. It will eat up them Scottish hills. But, beware, no breaking the speed limits.

Nice bike I had these on our shortlist when we were looking to buy 2 new bikes this year, the only reason we did not buy them was the Cube Kathmandu models we bought came with the new performance CX motor and a 625 watt battery.

I love electric bikes. I did just under 10,000 km in two years on my previous Cube. My last ride on it was the day before Lockdown here and I've not ridden since ?. Our Cubes were snapped up by a friend here when our new ones arrived.

I can now ride with all the younger friends again ??
