I've just bought a refillable LPG tank. The van already has a European non refillable bottle. While the regulator screws into the new tank the fittings are slightly different. The new LPG fitting is slightly cone shaped inside whereas the original bottle is flat.

I'm assuming I shouldn't use it as is. Do I need to get a new regulator or is there an adapter I can get?

Many thanks
Rory

I cannot help regarding the LPG fitting but the regulator is a 50 millibar model as used on old German vans. More modern systems use a 30 mb regulator. Check what yours is before using and if you are unsure about any of the fittings I suggest you get a motorhome gas engineer to check it.

The outlet on the two lpg cylinders look different to me in the way in which they are achieve the seal.. might be best to call in at a suppliers to check .. even if the existing regulator appears to attach to your new cylinder...
You regulator is marked at 50mb which is high compared to the standard of 30mb common now.. if you need a new one you would need to make sure it's the same..
Andy.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm going to call the supplier shortly but thought I would ask in case all I needed was an adapter. Will also check the 30/50 bar issue...... something I hadn't considered.

Many thanks

Also remember the flow rate . On old one it is 1,5kg/hr. If lower you could have problems when attempting to run all appliances together.
