Hi Looking for some advice if anyone out there can Help. Van and all accessories fine one minute, stopped and put the electrical step out, only to find and hour later wouldn't retract. On further investigation found both cab lighter sockets, radio, control panel (blank) and fridge not working. Checked all fuses visibly on the rectifier , the leisure battery ones and also Ducato cab ones. Anybody had the same, or can offer advice. I am not good atall with electrics,, could it be a relay or something under the bonnet? Regards Kevin

Quick check would be to start the van, let it run for a few minutes ( in case it is just a dead battery ) and try it again.
If it is a stuck relay it might become unstuck, if it is a dead battery, running the van for a few minutes will put enough in to see if anything comes back to life

Thanks for that jaws. Have tried this and batteries are all good ,Starter and 2 x 130amp leisure's. Also tried rectifier on and off and also connected and disconnected EHU. Thanks for trying.

Hi dealer has suggested I try to locate one of these as they are no longer available t them to order. Anybody got one ?

I wouldn't have thought that the small control panel or the habitation side power distribution unit (are you calling it the "rectifier ?)would have had any effect on the van radio or the lighter sockets, is there another fuse box in the engine bay that you've maybe missed ?
Did your dealer have a look at your van, or is he just suggesting it could be the controller ? You could try changing the small battery in the controller just to rule that out.
You really need to get a cheapo multi meter and physically check the condition of the fuses, they sometimes look ok when they're not.

Whilst on tour in Germany last year we had a similar issue with our 9 yr old Burstner. We had been parked up on 12v the previous evening and everything was working fine. The next morning we had no power to anything in the Habitation section at all, including the step which was stuck out and wouldn't retract. Fuses and everything visually looked fine.

The vehicle electrics worked fine.

Long story short, we eventually got the van to a dealer (with my hi viz wrapped around around the protruding step) who was prepared to look at it for us, and within minutes they established that the main habitation ECU ElectroBlock was duff. The technician unplugged it, fitted a new one and we were very gratefully back in business. (350 Euro)

Hi sounds like you were in the right place when it failed. I expect it could be a lot more expensive, when it is finally diagnosed here in the Uk and due to the age of the Burstner. Many thanks and safe travels.Regards
Kevin

Jock in reply yes double checked all fuses with a meter including ones near the Air filter under the Bonnett. Tried new Battery in the Control panel, to no avail other that different set of vertical streaks on display. Have been told by someone to leave off the van for 24 hrs as this can reset. SEEMS along shot , but ran out of ideas. Regards

Ok then, all I can suggest is that it there is a fault with the Reich Ebox, Apuljak Engineering may be able to repair it. I just got my Ebox back from them after the 12 volt fridge supply burned itself out, damaging the circuit board.
Best of luck with the investigations.

Thanks

Apulpjack Engineering , sorted my Reich E Box on the 2005 Burstner Elegance. first a temporary repair bypass to allow us to get away to Spain. (all working except control display panel ) Then order new parts, I believe upgraded the software and returned both Box and Display panel promptly to me. Brilliant service , could no recommend highly enough.
