Lost driving licence

We are on week three of 10 week trip around Europe in Lake Constance today
bad day poring down with rain so decided to walk from site to town( konstanz) about 2.5 miles and lost wallet with debit card 150 euros and driving licence .
I think it fell out when taking pics. Going to town to lost property office to see if some kind soul has handed it in , but just grasping a straws , lucky we two spare cards , but driving licence worries me , I am going to try to get online replacement , anyone had any experience of losing licence when abroad?

First thing cancel your debit card..

You need to report it to the police & obtain a report-.That will cover you usually if you are stopped .

I have a copies of documents in the van and digital copies on my phone & online which hopefully would avoid too many problems if lost.

I wouldn't worry too much whenever we have been stopped have been asked for passports but never been asked to show driving license.
