Losing the Plot?

I think that you are both suffering from exposure to old mo's jokes
Better that than being uptight. I experience feelings of being a bivouac and a wigwam. The Doctor says I'm too tense ...

I think jokes is a lose term for the pain and groaning they cause 😫😄
Not at all! My formative years were spent listening to Round The Horne, I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again, The Navy Lark, Al Read, and then listening to I'm Sorry, I Haven't A Clue, so the puns and 'Dad Jokes' from the likes of Barry Cryer, John Junkin, Spike Milligan, Bary Took, Marty Feldman et al are a delight. Rowan & Martin's Laugh In was a faster, slicker style of humour, but had the advantage of the visual presentation. The 'image' creation of the radio required a different style of writing.

'I say, I say, I say, who was that terrapin I saw you with last night?'

'That was no terrapin, that was my old teacher. She tortoise ...' :ROFLMAO:

Steve, exiting stage left, coat in hand ...

Now there's a throw back down memory lane, the Navy Lark and the likes. Excellent excellent stuff.

Radio comedy, still has a lot going for it.
I am still a Goons fan! Oh yes.
And Potty Time still made me chuckle all these years later.
Quality!!

The Physics Teacher sketch where 'Sir' is at the end of his tether, trying to explain the concept of gravity to Eccles ...
'Eccles, stand up'
Eccles: 'OK, I'm standing up@
Sir: 'Eccles, jump up in the air'
Eccles: 'I jumped up in the air'
Sir: 'What happened?'
Eccles: 'I came back to earth'
Sir: 'WHY did you come back to earth?'
Eccles: 'Because that's where I live ...'

Steve, not Falling in the Water

Two of my favourite characters: Julian and Sandy!
And of course Rambling Sid Rumpold, singing about his Bogling Fork. 😂
'Ooh, it's Mr 'Orne, how nice to vader your dolly old eek'. Come inside and see Jules, who's standing for Parliament, you know. Yers. Go on, shake hands with your prospective Member ...
