We want to get a 12V outlet installed in the living area of the van, running off the leisure battery. Can anyone recommend someone to fit that around Glasgow or Scotland central belt? Thanks.

It’s a very simple job to do your self, plenty of YouTube videos online to follow,

Where are you in Glasgow? I’m in Jordanhill, and have a Globecar - so might be able to help. I’m not an auto-electrician tho!

You could (In theory) run a (fused) 12v cable from the battery, but the correct way to do it would be to run a cable from the fused power distribution panel (probably a Schaudt EBL unit) that is somewhere in the van - this receives the 12v power from the battery.
The trickiest part will be running the cable from the EBL to wherever you want the power outlet - but there likely to already be some 12v wiring from the EBL in the van in places that can be tapped into / extended.

are close and get recommendations for car electrics - don’t try and phone - he wont pick up - drop in and chat.
he might struggle with the EBL though as it is not his area of expertise. He struggled getting his head around wiring a B2B to lithium properly. Understanding how the EBL handled the split charge relay and disabling it was the challenge. i redid it myself and chose to bypass the EBL., but I can't really fault him on that basis, as the EBL was new to him

I use Logan Vehicle Services, Grahams mobile and is based in Lanark. Covers the Central belt. If your on Facebook give him a look up, works on motorhomes all the time. I've used him 3 or 4 times for servicing and fitting an mppt controller. Very reliable.
