Lots but slow learner.
Looking at MHs and the vast array of layout's got me thinking what i deffo DO NOT/WANT in a van.

We DO NOT want dinette type seating/eating/lounging. Proper lounge and put up table for us (table is usually up once on site, takes seconds to put up)
We DO want beds that one can sit up and read in, not ones with cupboards above. One of lifes pleasurs for madam.
We DO want the ability to seperate the bedroom from the lounge.
We DO want gas AND electric hob.

Of course each to their own.
Any musts/not for you.

We have all that in our old ambulance in lesser degree, apart from the separate one but the main one that you haven't stated for us, a fully workable toilet and shower, just couldn't even think of running across a field to go to the toilet.

Don't want a table you have to put up must be fixed.
Don't want an electric hot plate/hob or full cooker.
Beds must be fixed.
Must have a big garage.
Must have at least a 1000kg payload
Water tank must be 150 Lt minium.
Prefer seperate shower & toilet.
Must have good ground clearance.
Must have a double floor.
Must be an A Class.

Now I must say we have almost none of that, looking again there is no almost about it , we have none at all. ;)

Must have a fixed bed……!;)

ABSOLUTE MUST-HAVES
Fixed transverse double bed essential
Separate shower (not a fold up sink thing)
Towbar
Dual fuel heater & boiler
Freezer, not an ice box
Hab aircon
150w Solar Panel
Rear air suspension
Full sized spare wheel
Mrs DDJC

COULD EASILY LIVE WITHOUT
The illogical, mind boggling internal lighting wiring/switching
The sheer amount of LED lights - think Heathrow runway
Inverter. Not needed it yet.
The 5th seat

Apart from Mrs DDJC that describes our van - plus RWD twinnie

That is critical for us too - ignoring the middle of the night or first thing in the morning usage, it's great for days out when miles from anywhere.
But my brother, who has a toilet in has van, refuses to allow it to be used. Each to their own.

Shower &toilet are first requirements.
I can't understand people like, what do they do, go for a dump in the hedge.
Yes. I know a couple who have a new T6 ,only ever wild camp and don't have a toilet.

Never had a shower in any of our rentals or the Imala we had last year. Alway's been on sites and used "The Blocks", also i have never dumped in a van but agree a toilet is an absolute must.....................but i thought that would be obvious.

Oh and an engine that works.................................

I favour Morrisons although I’ve noted that they’re less clean recently down here
If you want to go upmarket there is always waitross but never seen one in there perhaps they're too posh to 💩

We’ve only got one close & it’s not that sanitary, I tend to “wild” & whilst I like the John Lewis group they have a tendency to empty my account with the nice stuff & don’t put them where I’m wilding, otherwise top & tail of the eating process would be taken care of, oh, I’ve just turned this into another toilet thread!

Only must have's are being able to escape the human race. Room for the dogs.
Mrs Bubba says her as well but that's up for a debate when she can't hear.

What is a double floor?

Wheels that go around and an engine that works :giggle:
That's the one. Though I do also want a loo.
Then all I want is a tiny van with little to be maintained/ go wrong/ clean/ worry about.
I absolutely do NOT want a house on wheels with all the angst that implies.

Our local one has them. Can't afford to shop there, even with a £10 off a £40 spend voucher it was dearer than Lidl.
