Hi, my lights and electric fridge not working but fridge and switch lights are on. It’s the first time I’ve used it in 2 years and we’ve fitted a brand new engine battery as old one was dead. I’ve plugged motorhome up electricity in house, does it just need charging for 24hrs? I have no idea Any help would be appreciated. Also can anyone help us to what switches these are, some are self explanatory with pics but we are stuck on others
Thanks
Ceri

Hi and welcome.

What van is it that may help others help you..

It’s the first time I’ve used it in 2 years and we’ve fitted a brand new engine battery as old one was dead.
If you mean the motorhome has been stored for 2 years without connecting to a mains hookup, then it's very likely the leisure battery is dead too. If the leisure battery (the one that runs all the habitation circuits) is flat, then chances are nothing in the motorhome will work. If it's been flat for more than a few weeks then you will need a new one.

Unless you have solar panels, and they have been keeping it charged for the whole storage time.

One thing you could do is check the battery voltages. The switches B1 V, B2 V and the wave symbol with a V should show the voltage in the display. B1 and B2 are the engine battery and leisure battery (or maybe the other way round). The wave symbol should show the mains voltage, which is about 240V in UK, 230V or maybe 220V in Europe. If the leisure battery is flat, you may get a very low voltage reading, or even no voltage at all. It should be between 10 and 15 Volts. 12.0 to 12.8V if it's not being charged, and 13.0 to about 14.5 if it's being charged

First picture, right hand side. Top line shows voltages, depending on which switch is selected.
Lower line: Snowflake = fridge operating off 12V when engine usrunning
SB Switch: Leisure Battery charging from alternator/starter battery when engine is running.
Third symbol (a guess) shows the Awning Light is on. An awning light should not be on when driving, it may switch off automatically when the engine is running.
Tap symbol enables/disables the water pump.
