I'm replacing my existing roof vent because the crank handle/gearbox/ cables have jammed and I can't find a way to free it up.

I plan to replace it with one with an integral fan. As a Maxxfan won't fit, I'm left with two above.

Do either of them have the same lifting mechanism, and if so, are there any suggestions for maintenance?

We have had a Fiamma turbo vent on our last 3 vans without any trouble, us and a friend bouth had a problem with Thule omnivents in very hot weather where they would start automatically on full power even if the roof was shut.

Had no trouble with Fiamma turbo vent opening mechanism. The insect screen is a bad design though, difficult/impossible to clean.

Fiamma on my van. It stuck shut once after the winter, to open it I employed child labour - sent my 10 year old up to lift the lid up whilst I worked the mechanism inside! Other than that its been fine. A bit of silicone spray stops the seals sticking.
