Not sure if you know about this camouflage wrap (Mossyoak Graphics) I have just done my 100 -500mm lens and it has turned out pretty good.

Why would you want to camouflage the sides? Surely you point the camera directly at whatever you want to snap and light will reflect off its glass lens anyway?
I guess it's unnecessary to say that I'm only slightly more advanced than the black cloth and magnesium powder.
