Alan is good and knows his stuff but he tends to have very defined slightly blinkered views. He goes on about the Varta LDF being far safer in a Motorhome than Gel or AGM batteries but is only looking at one aspect. In an accident AGM or Gel is far safer as they do not contain liquid acid like the LDF does.

What an excellent article, giving what certainly looks like unbiased and factual information. With this knowledge widely published, it can only encourage other battery manufacturers to up their game or become sidelined.

He does rate gels as well though, just thinks they are not good value compared to his recommendations. I have heard him numerous times saying that Victron gels knock the spots off the lithium ones cycle wise
