Leaking water push fitting.

Arrived on site today and one of the push fit pipe connectors has failed, water peeing out when the pump is on. Stripped it down and the o-rings have gone hard so not sealing properly so what to do when you have no spares. Well believe it or not the o-ring on the tap connectors are very very nearly the same size. So took the o-ring of there and used it in the pipe push fitting and hey presto leak fixed.
