First of all thank you to those who recommended Uberlingen stellplatz, looked excellent, unfortunately all 42 pitches taken and half a dozen Motorhomes circling waiting to pounce on any sign of movement! Definitely one for the future.

We reverted to plan B, which was Camping Fischebach, between Freidrichshaven and Innenstaad, which both have ferry stops and are cyclable. Haven’t dared to even look at the price list, it’s high season and it’s pretty full even before the weekend. So booked in for 4 nights and looking forward to the delights of the Bodensee!

It was actually 4 years ago this week we were there and had no issues, possibly still quiet after Covid.

It’s Great stellplatz, supermarket next door, large hardstanding pitches, we arrived just after 1pm, guess a combination of good weather and nearing the weekend, will definitely be back though.

And a big thank you, it was your good self that we got the recommendation from!

Hi Bill&Helen,
We were at Meersburg on Monday and all okay, plenty of spaces at the stellplatz, prior we were at Breisach and again loads of spaces, I think today is a BH so everyone on holiday?

It's long weekend holiday there (Corpus Christi)

Used the Uberlingen stelplatz two years ago in mid September, only just managed to get the last pitch then, stayed for three nights.
Excellent location and small town, caught the ferry across the lake to Constance.

Well we have made it onto the uberlingen stellplatz today, holiday weekend is over and normal service resumed! It’s a gorgeous little town, now on our list of favourites, but wow it’s hot here today!

Further round the lake towards Austria there’s Camping Park Lindau on the waterfront. We stayed there for a few nights a couple of years ago and cycled into Bregenz for the opera on the lake. The Lindau Alte Stadt ‘island’ is definitely worth a visit for the medieval buildings etc.
