Can anyone advise a quiet place to stay overnight on arrival in Orkney.
We will arrive about 11:30pm so haven’t booked a site for that night.
Happy to drive along the coast or inland and as next month I guess it may still be light.
Also any other suggestions of must visit places would be helpful.

I don't think you will have any problems. There's a supermarket just outside town which would be fine for a short nap until day break.

Tesco I think. There's a big car park opposite as well and of course there is a campsite right in town.

There's a big parking area opposite Lidl \ Tesco and just down the road from the caravan site in Kirkwall. From memory there's specific bays for motorhomes. Cost?
You might also be able to park up at The Italian Chapel?

no signs saying cannot park 3 years ago when I last visited.
We parked our 7.6m motorhome there during the day and didn't see any "no overnight" signs (Sept 2019).
The memorial to The Royal Oak is also there and worth an hour visit \ look around (free).
