Been there quite a lot and every time we go it's either full or nearly full, a great site and a great location.

Been there many times over the years but haven't been able to get a booking for the last couple of years, until next week that is. Looking forward to a couple of pints in town.

We’ve been twice, but the third and fourth time it was under water.

Gave up on it now, and heading to Kent next week - beautiful place to visit in the winter. (y)

Try braithwaite ccc site it’s next door to Keswick and it’s slightly quieter and a lovely walk into Keswick

Hi the site next to Keswick's site is the Derwentwater CCC site, Braithwaite Village site is about 2 miles away but is a lovely site.

I think it’s the derwentwater site the OP is looking at, that’s why I suggested the Braithwaite site 😉

We stayed at the Braithwaite site one December a while back. There were one or two tenters there too pitching in 4 inches of snow. I went to the site toilets on my way back from the pub and there were 3 guys in there with their sleeping bags getting the benefit of the toilet's underfloor heating !

Clean enough to eat off so no problem sleeping on the toilet block floor 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Was there the January before lockdown and got a phone call whilst in the pub at 10 pm saying levels were rising and to come back and move the van, arrived back and ours was the only one left on the front row and because we were out a few hours:drinks: I was over the limit to drive legally so a kind camper drove it around the back, the warden advised us that the policy on-site is one of the party should not drink incase the levels rise .. not good for me as I'm the only driver!!
