Don't know if this is common knowledge, but we didn't know and it works really well (copied from a FB page). We have hab aircon but it's very noisy. This is far better.

Just a reminder that there is a "Vent" function with the Truma heater. With heating and water off, press the button when on the fan icon, then turn from "Off" to "Vent", there are then 10 fan speeds. Helps to keep the van cool in this hot weather.

I tried it once and found it totally useless it also uses a lot of power with the fan running flat out it draws 6 amps. Our fantastic vent works much better and only draws an amp.

It just blows warm air around, it's very noisy when up full and doesn't do any cooling. It doesn't even draw in external air which would be a better option if it was cooler outside.

Another👎👎👎👎 for Truma Vent... Noisy, Power Hungry and ineffective.

There are a few small holes in the floor of the van in the under bench seat where my Trauma unit is sited. But to make that act as the intake I'd need to block the easier vent in the sidewall if the seat. Doesn't seem that efficient an option even for the winter when you wouldn't want the cool fresh air to be contributing. But for summer venting what I want is to move the warm upper air and for that the rooflights opened with a couple of windows open seem fine. I'll leave the Trauma vent thingy off.

It simply doesn't move air quickly enough. It's not about blowing cold air, it doesn't do that. It's about moving ambient air around quckly enough to draw heat away from the body. With body temp at 37.5 and ambient at over 30 you have to move a lot of air very quickly over the body to have any effect. But thanks for the suggestion, we all welcome new ideas whether they end up working or not.

If the water heater has not been switched on it does give a breeze if the water had been heated the air temp is warm. So I think it’s fine on some occasions but understand the negative comments I find the noise on full a little like white noise and it doesn’t bother me ( my ears ring a little and they doesn’t bother me either).

I use the roof fan set to extract, this draws the hotter air at the top out and brings in cooler air in through the vents or windows
