Not tried this but some good reviews with regards to keeping dogs & motorhomes cool https://www.becoolsolutions.com/collections/aluminet-shade-solutions :

"The 70% Reflective Aluminet™ Shade Cloth is constructed from highly reflective aluminized fabric, reflecting unwanted heat, radiation, and light, and does not absorb any heat itself. The open knit construction allows excellent air flow while acting like a mirror. It provides 55% light reflection resulting in a cooler climate by up to 14 degrees F "

Having contacted the manufacturer they have kindly advised of a 5% discount code that Funsters can use 5orderdiscount (y) Please note that you have to go to Checkout to input the discount code & price is always then displayed & charged in US dollars so best to use a card which is zero rated for foreign currency transactions plus if you use Paypal also make sure that you opt to change payment to your card provider's rate not the default Paypal exchange rate as this is normally not competitive.

Did a dummy order & shipping is from $20 for 1 item then $10 more for each additional item so not cheap! Shipping time quoted is 1-5 working days.

Just been doing sum maffs and if it was 30C then it would reduce the temp to a possible 22C or 8C drop, in old money 86F down to 72F still hot but bearable but they are a price with the £ to $ exchange, there must be a UK supplier Someone like Minster products (No connection with firm) must be able to come up with something similar and made to measure. Not in the market personally but had a front screen done by them and well impressed.

We have made our own sun block blinds from a material made by Ferrari - not that one- which enable us to see out but retains our privacy. Not cheap, but effective! Kayospruce Fareham sell it, £26/metre!

Just had mailshot that all Aluminet is free shipping to EU until 31 May - have messaged to see if this still includes UK from their point of view as know some couriers have changed their websites already.

Westbarn1 Aerialmark & anyone else that may be interested
Just tried dummy order & discount code worked on the multi purpose & caravan versions (just not the compact version) plus shipping to UK came up as free (y) Don't know how it works with duty though as haven't ordered from USA recently.
Didn't spot it before but can have customised (in whole feet) version https://www.becoolsolutions.com/products/build-your-own-custom-aluminet & discount code works on that too. Thinking about how we might be able to use it with suckers or magnetic strip as shade for between motorhome & our pop up or Quest screen house shelter if really sunny - bit like this but maybe drape over shelter & peg down:

Looks like duty is only due on goods over £135 from USA https://transferwise.com/gb/import-duty/from-usa so presumably none unless going for a very big section of Aluminet then 2.5%. The Multi use version 4.3m x 3m is $84.55 after Fun 5% discount so at todays exchange rates (with current $20 delivery charge free offer) around £69 delivered or more if card charges but see post #2.
Bit tempted to try it but need to run it past Mr Wombles for sizing & viability!
Be Cool Solutions are also on Amazon UK Amazon product ASIN B01BD21W2S but currently works out more expensive buying it this way but good to see the feedback on there.

Checking their website FAQ - EU orders ship from Germany not USA. For items that we have recently bought from Germany there has been no duty but that may change in the future.

Yes, we made the one piece blind ourselves, from the slightly cheaper Soltis 86, but we 'borrowed' some sailmaker's patterning fabric from Jan's sailmaker daughter to produce a template. It was all done on a domestic machine. We have just bought some white material to do our latest Hymer, if it ever gets out of Spitfire Garage...
BTW we are not interested in going into production!:giggle:

Does look a great job & a DIY version may be a cheaper option for an A Class but Chris137 if looking for mesh screen covers for standard Ducato/Boxer/Relay cab windows (so if Chausson Flash?) then the ones from Minster are very good & may work out cheaper than buying fabric as just £68 plus £3 p&p. Their Polar Full Privacy Mesh http://www.minsterproducts.co.uk/Polar.htm gives privacy & shade whilst still being able to see out - we like ours & use them all summer in conjunction with our internal Remis blinds & only change to padded silver screens in cold weather. They do bespoke orders for other screen sizes but don't know what pricing for full mesh then but may be worth a call for other models. Handy when really warm to wind down the front windows so air flows through but once lights on inside the privacy aspect is compromised - it's easy to forget that! :giggle:

We lived on a sailboat in the Med for 6 yrs and used cheap garden netting draped over the boom cheap as chips and very effective as long as you don’t mind green.

Excellent!...one last question. At night can you see in from outside when lights are on?

Hi Broken Link Removed. Thanks and I think you may be right and at £71 it does seems a no brainer, but I'm surprised they are not made from a more reflective material. The Chausson is our first MoHo and we have yet to use it real anger so still trying to work out what is essential and what is not. Do the thermal ones also keep the MoHo cool? I see Minster do a more expensive version that has a privacy mesh installed so for the extra cost it might be more useful. Thanks again Chris

I've bought the aluminet stuff from a UK supplier a few years back to use at dog agility shows. Check out sites selling stuff for keeping dogs cool in cars, I can't remember the name of the website now. If I can find it, I'll post it, but it definitely came from a supplier in the UK.

Hi - yes if using full mesh screens at night you do need to have either internal pull across Remis blinds, or suction internal silver screens or a cab curtain for privacy when inside lights are on. The external silver screens are much better than the internal ones for excellent for insulating the cab area so warmer in winter, no condensation on the windscreen & cooler in summer - the only place it might be unwise to use them is if camping somewhere that you might want to leave quickly without going outside e.g. wild camping or maybe on some aires. They can be a bit wet but easy to wipe over or just stored rolled up on end in a bucket or trug (some put them in the shower cubicle) until your next stop. They are a very popular accessory for us motorhomers on rallies & campsites. If buying some silver external screens then it's worth the extra for the front mesh panel - there are several good makes but Minster Polar ones are keenly priced & good feedback from buyers on here. These are some popular alternatives https://taylormade-covers.co.uk/ http://www.silverscreens.co.uk/ https://rainbowscreens.co.uk/ .On our previous Chausson we had internal suction screens like these https://www.milenco.com/products/ac...ermal-blinds/universal-internal-thermal-blind at first which gave privacy, some insulation & reduction in condensation but then moved on to the external silver screens which worked much better & liked the mesh panel so just kept the internal ones for on aires. Our current motorhome came with internal Remis blinds that give shade but no view out & privacy at night but little insulation. As we sometimes run rallies & meets being able to see out of the side cab windows to spot arrivals is handy so we bought the full mesh but what is best for you depends on your usage. Hope that helps?!

Did find a few "UK sellers" on Amazon & eBay for similar ones with silver grommets but business addresses mostly in China or resellers. I'm desperate for a bit of shade in the garden so with the current offer think we will buy from Be Cool Solutions as with the discount & free delivery offer (until 31 May) they are not dearer atm & have read a lot of good feedback on German Facebook motorhoming groups (they are a fussy lot too!) about their version. Had it confirmed now that they do ship from Germany to the UK.

Just bought some from Be Cool Solutions for delivery to Spain so as to keep Motorhome cooler whilst stuck outside not being used. Temp inside today is 40 degrees and that's with all windows lined with reflective shields. Looked at Amazon.de but were more expensive (€209 v £127.72). Looked at cheaper offerings but as said above mostly from China and few recommendations. Thank you Wombles and Motorhome Fun weekly email otherwise I may have missed this.

Thank you for the feedback & happy that our posts have been helpful :) It would be good to know how long it takes to get there & how well it works for you. Javea & along that coast is on our wishlist of places to visit for some winter sun as it looks like a lovely area.
