Considering the purchase of a Kampa Rally Air Pro 260 to attach to our Rapido V55 campervan. Any comments welcome, especially how they stand up to wet and windy weather.

We have been using one of these awnings(albeit a 3 metre) for about 3 years now and on the whole consider them very good. But a few pointers....

(a) the 2.6 model will have a kader strip of slightly more than 3 metres due to the "batwings" that give extra support and cover the air vents.

(b) we do not have a roll out canopy but fit the awning direct to an already fitted 3 metre length of 'C' rail which we extended at either end to accommodate the "batwings".

(c) if you have a roll out canopy and intend mounting the awning on the c rail built into the canopy cassette, you have to ensure that the canopy cassette is fully locked into position after the kader beading is inserted or any forces, such as wind, will force the cassette out unevenly.

(d) the inflated awning has a great deal of flexibility an will stand a great deal of buffeting in the wind. We have used ours in 50 mph winds that took us by surprise in Spain. Didn't get much sleep as the movement of the awning seemed to be magnified in the MH (but it always seems much worse in the dark!! :drunk: :drunk:

(e) Suprising easily to put up and take down once you get the hang of it. There is a good video on YouTube showing how to do it. We recon about 15 mins either way.

(f) they are a big lump to handle in the MH. I think ours is about 20kg and roughly 100cm x 50cm x 40cm. Add on the pump, pegs, mallet, storm straps etc and it eats into your payload.

(g) we reckon we will only put it up if we are stayi g pu on site for 7 + nights so only carry it when we go to Spain for the winter.

(h) once erected they make a very useful extra room!!

(i) have a good weigh up about MH door and window position in relation to the awning, in particular to height of the MH door and if it will catch on the curved roof of the awning when it opens!

Good Luck
