I have taken 3 photos today the first at 11.40 the second 4 and a half hours later, here in the Costa Blanca we have had no rain at all, it's very dry and surrounded by pine trees, so be careful where you park and be alert, we walk a lot in these areas and constantly looking for any smoke. Bob.
We drove past that fire shortly after it had started this morning. We returned around 4 30pm to find the roads into Jávea closed as the emergency services dealt with it. Apparently, people were evacuated from their homes. We had to go down to Teulada in order to get back into Jávea. As said, it is so dry here.
Our June Spanish Villa holiday is in jeopardy due to he drought conditions. The authorities in Andalusia are making a decision on the filling of private pools next week.
Hotels and complexes have been given the go ahead but so far private homes including rentals haven't. Owners have been lobbying but so far it's not looking good.
Bit of a shame as we booked as a special treat but compared to the problems caused by fires and to farmers it's insignificant really.
