This weekend, Junction 10 of the M6 will be closed from 8pm on Friday 6 August until 6am on Monday 9 August.
The diversion will take drivers off at Junction 10, travel over the roundabout and then re-join the M6 on the slip road.
The map below shows the diversion route which will be in place for all of this weekend.

Expect delays!

Thanks we’re heading south this weekend. I am expecting loads of traffic and hold ups so this wil” be just another days normal driving down south.
I am expecting massive delays as this is the norm down there but it’ nice to know the reason for at least one of them👍🏻👍🏻.

What'll this be,third time lucky😀 maybe they should check that the 750tonne crane is available before announcing the closures

Alas yes, the bridge gantries have been stood in lay-bys for weeks ready to go.

Let's hope the wind drops or they'll be there for a bit longer 🙁
Hope not, just seen a video of the crane and ballast arriving on site.

The crane is the biggest one I have ever seen moving on a road.

Supported by at least 4 other HGV Artics carrying the ballast and other bits.

From local experience it will be chaos so avoid at all costs. The diversion routes aren’t easy and traffic backs up on surrounding roads quickly.

The M6 Toll will be a very good alternative this weekend and well worth the fee!

If coming up the M5, go onto the M42 at Bromsgrove and meet the M6 Toll by Coleshill.
