Janus the German

Over the years when in Spain as the German snowbirds arrive late October November we have always been amused by their intense territorial defense against all comers who dare trespass even a centimetre onto their pitch. Yet here in Germany for the last 10 days we have had German after German walk straight through ours and everyone elses pitch. I am convinced that if it was quicker they would come through our door and out the window, or ask us to move our chairs for a faster route.
Clearly 2 different nations within one.

I too have noticed Germans outside their own country behave quite differently to those "at home". Much prefer the latter, usually friendly helpful.
