Looking to change glow plugs on My older Iveco 49-10 Box van Motorcaravan
Greta Thunberg would be no doubt very happy to hear that I am trying to keep this van on the road rather than buy a brand new Motorcaravan.

If anyone is familiar with the older Iveco's please let Me know if I have them pictured.

the glow plugs are in the cylinder head, you should be able to see the from the top by lifting the bonnet.

If I understand correctly your picture shows the back of the Injector pump.
This is not where they will be.
As mentioned by kevntrace above they will be on the top surface of the engine.
There may be a cover or covers in place that will prevent you seeing them when you open the bonnet.
You may need a special deep socket etc to reach them.
On a relatively old vehicle they may be well corroded in to the cyclinder head so go carefully.
They will be identified usually by one relatively thick wire going to each one (to pass the high current needed),

I did take this plastic cover and the heat shield off the top of the engine.
I was getting a bit 'miffed' because the back plastic nut 13/64 spanner was being a bit awkward to undo due to being hard to access and also previously tightened by the Hulk.
I ended up changing the engine oil. The engine does start but is a bit lazy in the cold weather but starts with a booster 1st go.
Iveco has had a recent large battery as recommended by a battery parts supplier.
I'm fitting a 100W solar panel on the roof with a cab solar 10A charge controller with handy twin 12V USB outs to just keep the engine battery fully zapped.

I haven't had to thrash it like Basil with a branch yet.

It could be just one on the air intake track

Nope what you've pictured there is the injector pump pipes that feed the fuel injectors.
Glow plugs are screwed directly in the cylinder head at an angle so that the tip will be directly in the combustion or pre combustion chamber.
In a similar position to where the spark plugs would be on a petrol.
Follow those injector pipes round the side of the cylinder head and the glow plugs will be just below the injectors.

Yep, but I think My engine has the one similar plug.
I did see it today but thought it was something else.
Under the top plastic cover there is no glow plugs.
I have the earlier Iveco engine.
I had a Fiat 2.5Turbo- diesel and that had one glow plug also.

Yours is the 8140.27s yea?

I'm gonna run with it as I have to get some shut eye but if it is the 27s right year model with turbocharger.
saw this online, so took a closer look. I have ringed where the glow plugs are on that model.
Good night. Good luck ?????

If I could buy a complete head for that price I'd forget changing the plugs & change the whole thing. There's a pretty good chance one or more plugs will be seized in & you'd end up taking the head off anyway. Unless of course yours is one with a single plug & igniter chamber.

If it's lazy cranking over with a new battery, check your battery and starter connections and definitely clean and remake any earth straps you can see in the engine bay.

Glow Plug Mystery solved.
My 2.5td 1995 Iveco Box Motorcaravan doesn't have glow plugs.
It has ONE flame heater glow starter.
Looks more like a blow torch than a glow plug.

Yea that's the thermo start you were on about earlier. Nice work.. Much easier to fit one of them. :D

It wasn't seized to the block because it was sat on a copper type washer.
