There is a proposal to restrict the hours that foreign campers can use French Aires. We must arrive after 6pm. Thats OK in winter but in my experience if you haven't snagged your aire by 4pm you're not getting on, it will be full. The Germans won't be happy, I wonder if they'll block the French from their stellplatz?

I would’ve said ‘April Fool’......but the date on the letter is wrong.......o_O:(

And I also read only lefthand drive!
They don’t like the habitation door on the wrong side.
Plus only 300mm spacing between vans as we like to be close! Essential if you have a SOG system fitted!

M Macron is trying to kill the French tourism industry. Il etait fou!

Most Right-hand drive European motorhomes have the hab door on the right same as left-hand drive so if these are new rules hopefully it should be about the hab door not where the steering wheel is as it's only the UK that would not be left-hand drive or maybe some AU/NZ Imported vans.

This will probably push us more towards using the private camping car parks aires as you can book and guarantee a space in advance.

It’s punishment I tell ye, punishment, that’s what it is!

Ian😉

Has anyone fitted a more powerful fan to their SOG ? Mine is far to weedy to annoy anyone, apart from the noise it makes.

Yes me....I fitted two extra fridge cooling fans in my SOG, it helps to extract the poo smell during windy weather... especially after curries....

Another good reason to bypass France and take the ferry direct to Spain, I'm in the Chris camp now.(y)
but he's boycotting Spain as well now!
You'll probably be OK with the Renfrew Ferry though! :whistle2:

The thing with a good April Fool is that it has to be plausible enough to be believed. And this was. Nice one. Je suis un Poisson d'Avril 🐟

Bacuase if you are bypasing France because of the French attitude why would you use a French boat ,run under French rules? no difference to me?
