New owner - this is under the seat and is in line with water pump. Just need a heads up about how it works/maintenance of said item. Is there any thing else I should know.
Many, many thanks, Alan.

It's a grit filter to stop any bits jaming the pump. Just need checking ocassionly, you just unscrew the plastic cap to take it off and cean it. Best done when the system is drained.

Looks upside down to me, as in its a sediment filter/strainer so stuff should settle in the bowl.
.
Yes, they should be the other way up (or down actually)
Mine was delivered with the bowl under the pipe but touching the floor. To take the bowl off to clean the filter, I had to twist the assembly around. I decided that maybe shouldn’t keep doing that so now I leave the filter on it’s side. Is that a reasonable compromise?

I would settle for 45 deg below horizontal ;) still get some sediment in the bowl.

Thanks everyone for your replies. It all makes sense now and I will turn it too.

So I guess I need to slightly slacked the white and grey hexagonal nuts either side to swivel it?

Probably no need to slacken the white one. The fitting to the left of it is a push-fit type, which will rotate.

We have a filter like that in our MH but it is on the vertical pipe ...

Is that why I have an issue with it 'throbbing'?

That’s not good having a throbbing pipe😜
