Is this the future for Battery Storage and Electric Cars?

I assume there must be some agreement to only use the top 30% of battery capacity. (say).
I wouldn't want to come back to find that my battery had been discharged.
Generally, I'd connect up to replenish rather than deplete them.

If you had a Tesla with a 300 mile range and your daily mileage was only 30 miles and your batteries were full, you’d potentially have loads of unused capacity which could be borrowed at peak times during the day and repaid later in the day or at night.
 
I'd still want to control how much would remain in my car.
(Tesla's are not catered for at the moment. The car they were using was a Mitsubishi Outlander with a much more modest capacity =14kWh or 30miles.)
