according to my google map this site is under 6 foot of water in a loch - which might explain why it is nice and cheap !

After the rain they have had this last couple of days it probab;y is :Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

No need to wild camp at those prices....... and even so I bet not everyone puts money in the box.

I have posted some pics up on here for firemoor sands as well as in my Scottish blogs. We have stayed there the last couple of years and it is truly beautiful and the beach is something else. Although a word of caution. It can be a little soft so getting off can be a problem. If it is there is a car park accross the road or if you follow the road right to the end it goes to nowhere and there is a large car park with memorial to the russian sailors of WW2. This car park can also be used.

Well worth a visit and thanks for bringing it back :thumb:

well found

excellent i will include this on my planned trip around scotland
many thanks

:thumb:We Found the place about ten years ago and then it was £1.50 per night or £5.00 for the whole week. The only problem was you had to drive back to poolewe to empty the loo and refill with water. But I must say it was one of the most tranquil sites we have ever visited.

Firemoor sands

Thanks for that :thumb:...another one we`ve got to visit ...out of season of course !! :Rofl1:

What a wonderful spot - must remember that one next time we are up that way.

(Quite a long way from Loch Tay though, and thankfully, above water!)

Just thought I'd update this thread as we stayed here a couple of nights ago and it was great :) so for any newcomers that may not know about this site when doing their NC500 trip, it's now £5 per night or £20 per week with a maximum stay of 2 weeks, great for access to the beach and if your into water activities :)
