Is this a con trick for data SIM cards?

pre paid data sim's are legit.

how much data for you £15?

i cant see any link in your OP so dont know what you are referring too.

I have often used an EE prepaid data sim ( although it does not need to be a data sim as they all work in a data device ) had no issues and have never renewed them just bought another as it is nearly always cheaper.

Read the small print and reviews, you have to contact them to claim your credit and by all account they are not easy to contact, plus you will need a sim cutter to cut the card down, all things considered I wouldn't bother personally;)

.
EDIT you can tell I spent too long researching it

Bought this SIM which arrived with a sticker on the package with a number to call or text to get the credit put on the SIM. But you can't call or text the number because there's no credit on it! What a complete waste of time. And because it was bought with a phone from another seller as a bundle, the phone is going back as well as I can't use it! Even 02 when I called them said I shouldn't have bought the SIM online, so big lesson learned
