We are on ferry 23 sept and we don’t know whether to turn left for Germany or right for France

We had such a great time on The Mosel rolling meet a few years ago and fancy going again and taking jn boppard and other Rhine villages .

Just a bit worried about the weather - any advice welcome

I would just keep an eye on the weather but keep an eye on it before you go as well as a lot of those Stellplatz get flooded and very muddy. If its a dry September then go for it.

The weather has been all over the place in the south of France this summer for all of August. Its been pretty grim most of the time. Either horrendously hot or wet, cold and raining so I reckon these days there are no guarantees anytime.

We are heading off tomorrow  and the Mosel will be part of the trip.
We will be on the way back by the time you are heading out
We have been later in past years and the weather can still be very nice but you can also get some wet days.
As you get towards the end of the month the colours can be stunning.
A couple of days and you can be well towards the south of France or Italy if the weathers is not to your liking.
This our plan  we normally wing it much more but have a couple of events we are attending and some things to tick of the todo list.

We will be half way through our 30 nights in Germany. By then be around Lake Constance and then swinging round for the Mosel towards Koblenz. So certainly hope the weather will still be favourable.

Mind you the beer festivals are in good flow 🍺🍺🍷🍷🤪🤪

We are heading for the wine
We were there a few years ago but the memory is a bit vague for some reason.

Made it to Monschau today
Very warm drive down today
Bit of a first hint of Autumn tonight
Did have some fun with a closed road and no signed diversion.
The Germans do seem to like a mistery tour

We were in the Mosel in late Sept /early October two years ago and the weather was fine when we were there. The only problem we had was finding a place to stop at the weekends. I would check the forecasts a couple of days before you go and make a final decision then.

Greetings from Salzburg ! Full sun tmoz , driving back from Croatia mid October will keep the SELOC massive informed 💡👍

We are also off on our first trip in our MH to Germany next week! But will take the advice of you all on here and check the weather and take it from there! As they say the beauty of a MH is having the freedom of where you want to go when and in another direction! Safe travels all

I have just returned from the Mosel and had a wonderful time at the wine festival. I think late September could be wonderful!

We left the Mosel on Monday. Had a great time at the wine festival in Cochem on Sunday. We were headed to Bernkastel-Keus for their festival this weekend but a lot of the parking has been taken over by the fairgrounds. The weather wasn’t great, so we’re now heading south to Spain.
Currently at a free aire in Meung-sur-Loire. 11 spaces but overflow parking across the road. Only 5 vehicles parked up for the night & it’s a lovely little town 😏

We have visited the Mosel in September a number of times in recent years for the wine festivals and cycling, we have been very fortunate with the weather. In 2024 the weather turned wet so we headed for the Dordogne where the weather was fabulous. This is the great joy of motorhomes, it’s easy to chase the sun if that’s what you want.
