Is it a 180bhp or a 150 bhp

Hello to everyone from a newbie.

Has anyone recently purchased a new motor home with the new Fiat Euro 6 Multijet 2 180bhp engine, and dose it look like the one on the Fiat website, www.fiatcamper.com/en/product/engines

I have just taken delivery of a new motor home that has an engine that looks just like the 150bhp on the website, but should be a 180bhp,

I am waiting to hear back from Fiat but thought I would ask the Question on here.

If you look at the oil filler cap, dipstick, oil filter, engine cover on the 180 they are all different or in different places to the 130 & 150

I’ve just had a look at ours it’s only just been imported and only done 500 miles thought I’d take a photo for you but it would be a waste of time as a you can’t really see it for radiators and other bits and pieces.
Think it’s very hard just looking at it why not call Fiat and ask them I did when I needed the engine number they were very helpful.
Sorry you already have I would await their response then.

I would say that mine does not seem to have the oil filter at the same side as the dipstick as shown on their photo.

I have looked all over mine, from above and underneath, it looks nothing like the 180 in the picture, but almost exactly like the 150, maybe Fiat are using the same engine but with a few extras fitted on, but according to another fiat website, it should have a bigger turbo, stronger pistons, different crankshaft, ETC

If you check your Fiat COC it will say 130 KW a on item 27 . 1

Do you know if there was a Euro 6 multijet 1? As they could be the older type if so I won’t be very happy as my invoice quotes multijet II.

Hi Alan,
It does say on the V5C 130kw, converted on google = 177 bhp, that still doesn't make it look like the 180 in the picture, I thought for the extra £5500 engine and chassis upgrade, I would be able to tell a difference in performance from the 150 that I took on a test drive, I drove my new motor home all weekend 240 miles and could not tell any difference to be honest.

Are you able to post a pic of the engine. If the Fiat brochure is anything to go by then your oil filler cap should be over to the left of the plastic engine cover as opposed to mine which is fairly central.

Ah, that's very interesting for a geeky bloke like me as the description of your lump is exactly like my 150 MJ-2. I wonder what Fiat has done in that case.

I've just checked my 150 engine and your inlet manifold (the one in your pic which is connected to the front mounted intercooler) is different to mine for sure.

You have to admit it looks more like the 150 than the 180, look where the dip stick and oil filler cap are on the 180

Local Fiat dealer has said it is a 180 bhp, but where is it getting the extra 30 bhp from , not a chip I hope.

I am thinking along those lines as well but we also went for the automatic so that may involve some mods as well.

The converter would build around the engine so I am unclear as to what is going on with your actual engine spec. Also, the robotised gear system (aka autobox to some) should not require a major revamp of the engine components and in all honesty should remain separate IMO.

I have just been under my own van and I've checked the engine (front side) and mine is definitely a 150 E6 MJ-2 as per the Fiat diagram above.

Yours (and Alan's engine) on the otherhand has no correlation with the Fiat diagram because the Fiat 180 MJ-2 has a full left mounted oil filler (as per Fiat's own diagram) while yours is 100% central.

Very spooky indeed.

It will only be a chip in the ECU. My Renault Traffic is 125bhp. But the 145bhp is the same engine just different ECU. Remap takes them both to 170bhp

I have just this minute got off the phone from Fiat Italy and they can confirm it is a Euro 6 but have said I need to take to a fiat workshop to confirm as to whether it is the multijet II .
If it’s not and I have been missold Fiat will take it up on my behalf.
